Company History
1957 - Aircon Airspares and Services established as a sole proprietorship by the Late Mr. B.N. Mathur
The company started as a major player in the emerging international civil aviation industry representing airlines from Afghanistan & Nepal. The company also provided spares for civilian and defense aircraft operators and represented international airlines in India.
1979 - Aircon represents the French company LMT simulators and sells the first Airbus A300 simulator
1982 - Mr. B.N. Mathur passes on, Rakesh Mathur takes over as Managing Director
At this point in time, the company represented over 15 non-scheduled passenger and cargo airlines, dealt with spares and provided flight support services to airlines coming to India.
1985 - Open sky policy declared by Indian Civil Aviation Ministry
As a result of this policy, charters started coming into Delhi. Aircon would liaison with DGCA/Airport Authority/DOT/Defence Ministry for permits /slots/other clearances and provide Supervision at airports as the airline representative in the absence of no charter airline having offices in India.
Note - To date, many charter airlines may have GSA's in India, but their operations are handled by Aircon.
1986 - Aircon begins a partnership with the Interturbine Group offering repair and overhaul solutions in hot section components, specialized metallurgical, and non destructive testing processes to the operators such as Air India, Indian Airlines as well as the H.A.L. and the Air force. Charters continue as more and more airports in India are made International for direct access.
1990 - 1993 - Aircon partners with Austrian Airlines, Monarch Airlines, Air Europe U.K. & Italy, Sterling Airways Denmark, Martinair Holland, American Trans Air USA, Transamerica Airlines, Transavia Airline Netherlands, Air Holland, Novair Sweden, Cargolux Luxembourg, Volga Dneper & Antonov design bureau, Belavia Airlines, Finnair, LTU, Air 2000, First choice Airways, Dan Air services and many other adhoc operators including state owned aircraft from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Venezuela, Portugal, USA and the UK.
1992 - Goa office established
1997 - Aircon signs on with Universal as an independent company that is part of the Universal Global Network for business aircraft
2000 - 2005 - As the growth rate of incoming corporate jets takes off from an estimated 10% to about 30% in the late 1990's and grows to 50%
In this period, the company went through significant growth, and expanded it's operations and services.
2007 - With the increase in purchase of corporate jets by Indian companies in a booming Indian economy, the company introduces global trip support services to domestic operators such as Punj Lloyd Aviation, DLF Ltd., Indo Pacific Aviation, India Bulls, Emaar MGF, PRJ Group and Viraj Profiles.
